Bill Maher faces off with 9/11 Truth Movement LIVE on television.
Six activists managed to get into Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday, October 19, 2007, at CBS studios with signs and banners, as well as 9/11 “truth dollars” advertising activist websites. They disrupted the panel discussion segment of the show with statements questioning the official story of 9/11, and they openly challenged Bill Maher to a debate on WTC Building 7.
Los Angeles, California (WeAreChangeLA.org) October 23, 2007 – Maher was talking science during a round table panel discussion when the first activist named Randy stood up, held up his smuggled-in sign reading ‘9/11 is a cover up fraud’ and shouted “Investigate 9/11, Nothing else matters” and other comments to the same effect.
Randy was swarmed by show crew members, and Bill Maher scampered into the audience, put his hands on the back of a crew member shouting, “Out, out, out”.
After making his way back on stage, Maher barely got his mic back on when a second activist, Katy Kurtzman stood up and shouted “What about Building 7? What about Building 7, Bill?” Maher stood up and said “I’ll kick your @ss out of here, too!” and producers proceeded to escort Kurtzman out of the audience.
One of the panelists, Joel Stein, LA Times columnist then jokes “I was only allowed two guests so things should be okay after this.” That’s when the third activist, Peter Thottam challenged Maher once again about Building 7 “Tell us what happened to Building 7, Bill!”
As Peter was grabbed and dragged out of the audience, Maher replied, “You are a nut case… Building 7.” Turning to his panelists, he continued to explain, “You know what that’s all about? Out of all the things I’ve said, and believe me I’ve said a lot of things… that could get my head on a block, the one that they protest about out here is the people who think the World Trade Center was a controlled demolition.” The fourth activist, Lisa shouted from the very back of the audience “It was” and she too was quickly escorted out of the audience.
“In that instance I am actually defending President Bush. I don’t think President Bush brought down the World Trade Center.” Maher added. The fifth activist, Shawn booed from the back of the audience. Maher joked “And cows disagree with me.” Bill Maher then proceeded to discuss the news of the day, but was interrupted one last time by the sixth activist, Bruno Bruhwiler “Hey Bill, how come you won’t debate 9/11 Truthers on your show?” to which Maher replied “How come I don’t fire my audience department?”
Randy described what happened to him after he was dragged out of the audience at the Bill Maher show. “They had five to eight people grabbing me and dragging me out. Once outside the show, on an outdoor balcony, near the ledge, I was taken to the ground roughly. I was handcuffed. Someone put a knee in my back to hold me down. They twisted me like a pretzel. The most brutal person was a stagehand type with casual work clothes and long hair. I believe his name may have been Chris.”
Randy continued “When the LAPD arrived a half hour later, I told them that I was heckling a comedian. They said ‘take those handcuffs off’ and questioned that guy Chris about his behavior. The officers agreed that I had done nothing wrong and gave me their business cards and let me go. I am still in pain, today. The show crew beat me up pretty bad.”
Protests have been ongoing outside CBS Television City for the last few weeks after Maher took a digg at the 9/11 Truth Movement in a segment on his show entitled “New Rules”.
“Crazy people who still think the government brought down the Twin Towers in a controlled explosion have to stop pretending that I’m the one who’s being naive,” Maher stated. “How big a lunatic do you have to be to watch two giant airliners packed with jet fuel slam into buildings on live TV, igniting a massive inferno that burned for two hours, and then think ‘Well, if you believe that was the cause…’ Stop asking me to raise this ridiculous topic on the show and start asking your doctor if Paxil is right for you.”
When asked what the significance of Building 7 is, Katy Kurtzman elaborated, “One of the main reasons why the 9/11 Truth Movement wants a new independent investigation is the unexplained collapse of World Trade Center Building 7. WTC7 fell uniformly straight down into its basement in 6.5 seconds. If you had dropped a rock from WTC7’s roof it would have hit the ground in 6.25 seconds at free fall speed.”
She continued, “No building of any material has ever collapsed at free fall speed except in the case of controlled demolitions. Just watch footage of Building 7 and you will find that it looks just like a controlled demolition. Controlled demolitions take weeks or months of preparation. Go to Google or YouTube and do a search for Building 7. We are not being told the truth about 9/11.”
